A spectacular evening sunset thunderstorm was intercepted at Gunning midway between Goulburn and Yass New South early December 2014. The sunset illuminated the thunderstorm and its base which finished a wonderful storm chase.

June 2013, when driving to Canberra, I stopped at a rural location at sunrise and observed this bird struggling to keep warm in the first flows of the morning sunlight. The temperature was around minus 5 to minus degrees Celsius. This was taken at sunrise.
